The time to get your first designer prom dress has finally come. , You should consider the following. First, is the weather (and the heating or air conditioning of the hall in which the prom is being held). You do not want a thin chiffon costume if it is likely to be cold, and you don’t want to be wearing velvet if very hot. Wear something you will be comfortable in, which is always significant

Next, design. This should flatter your figure and enhance your personality. Choose something fussy if you like being the center of attention, have an outgoing personality, or love meeting people. But remember that you are likely to be photographed so don’t be too outrageous. You don’t want your future to be haunted by those pictures. If you tend to be more shy, then look for something refined and understated. Make sure you will be comfortable in the style you choose.

When choosing a style for your formal prom dress, you should also look carefully and honestly at your figure. most if us have a few pounds extra that we would rather not highlight and few have the perfect figure. Don’t fool yourself that you can diet/exercise to be rid of it by prom night – you won’t. Instead, find a dress which will compliment your assets and hide those extra inches. Do not wear a tight fitting costume if you are on the heavy side, frills and ruffles will only tend to draw attention to your inperfections so don’t wear them. Do not wear a tight or very low cut dress if you are large on top, it will do you no favours. You want to look glamorous on your special night, so don’t adopt the edict of ‘If you have it – Flaunt it. That does not apply on prom night and is only likely to embarass you.One other thing, make sure the stripes go the best way if you fancy a striped material. Horizontal stripes tend to make you look shorter and fatter, Upright stripes tend to make you look taller and thinner. Stripes can be a good way of hiding the fact that your hips are large or that you are challenged in the bust department.

Color is very significant. It should look good on you and enhance your skin tone. If you have a very pale complexion, avoid Royal blue, it will make you look even more pale. Also avoid pale colors, they will look insipid and you will fade into the background, not what you want to do on this very special evening. Deep pinks, greens and reds would look good. If you have a favorite color, try it. You should find the color which makes you feel special.Orange and reds best suit redheads, and greens can really look good. Look at your eyes, why not try enhancing their colour by wearing the same colour for your costume.

Keep your options open as you select your dress. Try everything, before you dismiss it. Enjoying wearing your prom gown is the most crucial thing of all.You need to feel special on your special night If you don’t, try something else.
